Crafting Again! Finally.

Hi friends!  My first week back to creating and apart from a few moments of frustration, I am happy to announce I didn't do too bad for not creating a doll in almost 6 years.  I love how "Donald" turned out.  Yep, you guessed it, he is named after the GOP frontrunner and potential nominee.  Whether you hate that or love that, this Donald is undeniably cute.  And well if you haven't figured out why he is an elephant than you need a bit of educating. **wink.

This fella took me three days off and on.  Things are a bit different now than last time.  For one, I have to wear reading glasses to see what I am doing.  I also find that I need a clean work area.  I went into this project with a bit of a mess already and I kept losing things amongst the mess.  Ha  So, after I finished I cleaned and organized. So happy thought that I have my large studio space.  I can keep my office area separate and clean while I throw fabric around my crafts space. lol

~Freedom~

~Click her image to view the auction~
One more dolly finished for the week. This is is so very sweet, hard to part with I think. I will be putting her on Ebay this weekend. It will be a busy one here. I get my riding lawn mower delivered. Oh my. At least my brother will be here to uuuuhhuuumm...show me how to use it! lol I know I will probably be nervous my first time, but he thinks after a while I'll be like Edward scissor hands and be mowing patterns in my grass. HAHA..funny. I doubt that! But, it makes me feel very independent. And I am more independent than I have been ever, right now. I will finally be going out to meet people (unfortunately at a bar) this weekend. I don't get to meet too many people making dolls all day! lol But, I would not trade this in for anything right now. It is so much fun to be creating again.

~Pumpkins & more~

What am I working on... I scheduled a little creative time today. I am so happy, that I did. I won't be getting much over the weekend. I have open houses both days. But, if I could put a few hours a day, I may have some Halloween items for sale this weekend. I love this little pumpkin make-do with his crow. I painted on his eyes versus the sew on look. He is not finished but, I like sharing. I feel like I have not been a good blogger, lately.

~Zelda~

I finished another little Halloween item, this weekend. I will be putting her on E-Bay this week. My first semester is officially over tonight at midnight. I have a whole week off, so I hope I can create a few more items before the new term begins. I am pretty tired, today. I have been trying to nap for a while each day, since the kitties were waking me up at 4am. I feel like taking one right now. Yawn. I wanted to work on another item, today...so hopefully, I will have the energy. I hope you like Zelda. :)

~Miss Glory~

I finished my dolly. She will be for sale on June 6th on my WSOAPP sales blog for $69, plus $12 shipping. You may purchase her here now, if you cannot wait! I hope all of you waiting for another one of my dolls are not disappointed. I hope I can try to make at least one doll a week, while taking my classes. It may not always work out that way, but I am excited about Halloween. They are always the most fun to make, I think we can all agree. For those of you who say you'd like to own one of my dollies. I do accept ideas or if you want one I have made in the past, I may be able to manage that if I have the materials. Thanks everyone for being patient with me. Enjoy Miss Glory!

A cozy prim home

Here are some pictures of my rug hooking tudors house. I had to share. I love all the prim decoration she has, don't you? Thanks Karen for allowing me to take on the spot pic's...lol I don't see any dust, do you? I know, I can be crazy! Gosh, if Karen ever decides to have a yard sale...count me in. Her home looks like a prim boutique!!! GIMMY!

The hook rug is only one of her projects. The pattern is by Hooked-on-Rugs. Someday, I hope to be able to make then this neat. I could not resist, so I had to order this pattern. They are having a buy one get one half off if you want to check it out!

I am signing up for Denver's 11th Annual Hook In ( a couple weeks from now) OMGosh, I have to take my camera. I am sure there will be some very talented people there. It will be interesting to see how much I can get done with an all day event. Normally, I work on my rug an hour or two at time. That is why it takes me so long. Ooooh, now I am excited!

Bunny Valentine

I will be listing this little bunny stocking on Ebay, this afternoon. Click on the image to go to the auction. It is a gorgeous day, again, today. Sunny and warm. I will no doubt be spending most of it indoors, though. I started a new purse. A funky black one. Other than than, not much else is going on.

Fun Folk Art & A Clean Office

I got a few packages in the mail, today. These fun little paintings are from Cris of Mommy's Midwest Mountain Folk Art. They are so much fun and so much cuter in person, I must say. They are setting right on my desk. Which happens to be a lot cleaner than when I am creating something. I was able to get a lot of cleaning in yesterday. I dread cleaning, really, but once it is done I love it!

I am off to run to the store. I got to get some bratwurst and snack items for the big game, tomorrow. I normally could care less, but Shelby and Tim want to come watch it on our big screen. Shelby and I will probably knit of course.

~Bonnie and her bunny valentine~

Bonnie is listed on E-bay. Click on her image to go to her auction.

She is such a sweetie. I love all the pink and red (my favorite colors, by the way) She is so precious, I almost want to keep her...but, she is for someone special to enjoy, I just know it.

It is frigid cold out again, today. I guess no melting snow for a bit. I will probably just stay at home, do a bit of housework and start a new doll. I have been slacking on my penny rug. I have learned that if I am working on one thing, I tend to only concentrate on that for the time. I have not knitted for a week now. I really need to finish my sweaters. I am so close to being finished and winter will only be a couple more months.

I do not have much else going on. I bought a laser light for Dana. Dana is so full of play energy. I still think she has kitten in her. She could go for hours playing with that thing. Too bad they cannot control themselves. I am the one that gets bored moving the laser around...lol

Well, have a cozy Tuesday. I am gonna go turn the heat up! :) burrr

~Snowball and Alley Cat Rescue (please read)~

Remember Snowball? Well, Joan has painted another one. This time, he is pooped out! Gosh, isn't he just so precious? Her auction starts today, for this painting. The auction ends for the playful version, this afternoon, but if it does not sell, she may re-list it. Joan is an amazing portrait artist, isn't she? Help support my friend, a true starving artist by going to Crow Productions. Check out her blog too! Remember she is offering custom portraits, if you have a pet you want to capture forever in a painting. She can do small and large portraits, just send her a note!

PLEASE READ: So, I have been taking food to the Ferrel cats down the alley. It is one alley away down from mine. There seems to be a big cat colony there. At one spot were I leave the kitten food, it seems someone is taking it. May be the people that live in one of the homes, that the cats are hiding out in. Their back yard looks like "Sanford & Son" (if you get what I mean)..Anyway, I am really annoyed. I get that they are poor and probably cannot do anything about the cat issue, but to take my food away...it urks me! So, because of this I think I am gonna start a non-profit cat rescue. We do not have a ASPCA here in Denver. If I own a cat rescue organization, maybe people will take me more seriously and leave my stuff alone! lol

Anyway, It costs $50 to purchase a trap. I only have one. I cannot just trap one cat, because it is likely it will be a mom of one of the many kittens that are running around. So, I have to do something. If these kittens are not captured, they surely WILL die. I know, I have seen all three of Shadows siblings (which were alley cats) die before they hit 4 months old. These are not quick deaths either. They get terribly injured by another stray animal and go crawl behind something to die...which takes days, because they end up getting eaten alive by maggots. YES THIS IS REALITY!

So, I have decided to start a blog for the non-profit and try to raise money for cages, food, vet bills and such to help with this problem. It is all I can think of, to save these little poopers!~

I will be offering special felted dolls and other kitty items and some of Joan's paintings, in order to help raise money. If you want to donate, please email me and I will keep you informed when I get this whole non-profit started. I have never done one, so I will be asking one of my girlfriends for help, who has.

I have been praying on this for a long-time. Just last night I worry a lot about the poor things and it can be very difficult for me emotionally and financially. This idea about a non-profit comes from the holy spirit, I know. So, pray for me, but especially pray for the well being of all the little kittens!

PS~ I need help with a name for my non-profit...any suggestions?

Peace on Ebay

Well, I had a continued eduction class today, for my real estate company. I am not that active with my license, right now. I do however have a Employing Broker License.

Anyway, since I did not get anything done today, I am listing my Peace doll tonight on Ebay. Click on her imaged to view her auction.

~New artist in my collection~

Well, while I was surfing other artists' blog lists, I came across these paintings by Tracy of The Vintage Sister Studio. They are so cute. It Christmas everyday, at my house. Everything comes so wonderfully wrapped.

I have been getting up at the crack of dawn this week. Joan, my neighbor is out of town and I am checking in on her cat food and feeding the crows as soon as the sun comes up. It was fun watching the crows, today. I fed them A LOT...Joan's gonna come back to some spoiled birds and kitties..lol

~Sneak Peak of my newest doll~

Great news~ So, I read the instructions on my Jury Duty form and it said to call their number the night before to see if you had to show up...good thing I did that. I was NOT called in. Gosh, could you imagine if I did not do that..LOSER. LOL

Anyway, so I had 4 girls from church here last night. Three of them are in their early twenties. I teased them and said "technically, I am old enough to be your mom" yikes. Well, now they want me to be their foster mom, cuz I had such a great house with a latte maker and gym and theatre. They also said they want to be like me (creative in all things) when they grow up. How funny is that. Well, they all did really well learning. I think their young brains can absorb a lot!~

Myself on the other hand...I was working on this crocheted scarf that I have had issues with. I kept taking half of it out because of increases and decreases. Well, last night I noticed it was getting bigger again...Not sure if I swapped crochet needles to a bigger one or what. SO, I gave up. There is only so many mistakes I can handle in a short period of time.

We knit again tonight, so I need to find something else to work on. Something easy, so I can help my friend Pia get her knitting skills down. She is getting really frustrated with it, because she just somehow cannot get it right.

Well, I am off to work on this santa doll. I have to make him another hat. The red dye leaked onto his fur during coffee staining...uggh. Hopefully, he will be ready to list tonight or tomorrow! Have a good day! Sunny and 65 AGAIN here in Denver...rubrub!~

~Another special $.99 sale~

Gosh, I am being awfully generous, lately! I feel guilty not creating any dolls for sooooo long, it seems. So, I have put my cute little kitty paper clay sculpture on e-bay for 5 days. I know there is someone out there that wants this little guy!

You can view his auction by clicking his image.

Good Luck!

~Riendeer Stocking~

Another one down. It has been pretty hectic trying to crank these out. I hate feeling rushed. That will teach me!

Our guests are cooking us dinner tonight...MEXICAN. Although, I am not a huge Mexican food fan.... I am sure I will like it. Usually the restuarants use a lot of lard and that is probably what makes me feel lousy after eating all that smothered stuff.

Anyway, enough for my chit chat. I still got work to do. The next stockings I am making simpler and will use it as my give-away item. HINT: Kitty Cat :) So, you kitty lovers might want to sign up for that one!

Adios Amigas!!

~Snow Man Stocking~

So, here I am thinking..Wow, got one down..just two more to go. Then I relized I forgot the word "frosty" on my stocking...duh!~ Too much to do and sooo little time.
I am rushing to get my other two stocking finished, today and I still have not planned my giveaway..I suppose I will have to crank that out tomorrow morning.

The wedding is at 3pm, so I think I can get it done...Time seems to fly, though.

The bridal shower was fun, last night. I made the bride a gift basket of 6 balls of yarn (enough for two scarves -one for her and one for her new hubby) needles, and a knitting book. It is a little different from the usual bridal gift. Her mother thought she liked it the best. I am glad she enjoyed it. She seems so excited about learning to knit and be a part of our knitting group.

Well, I probably should not be waisting any more time on the computer. Happy Friday to ya and come see my items on the WSOAPP open house tomorrow!

~St Nick Stocking~

With my headache gone, now I can get back to creating. I do not have too much time today, but hopefully tomorrow I will be able to get alot accomplished.

I am placing all the stockings on WSOAPP's sales blog, which will start this coming weekend.

So, last night I had a big brain fart. I knew the sun would be coming up earlier..lol but for some reason I kept thinking ..."I gotta go to bed early cuz I will be losing an hour"...duh I even set my clocks ahead..instead of back. I woke up at the crack of dawn and every 15 minutes after...looked at the clock and thought...why is the sun not out? HUH? So, I turned the clocks back 2 hours this time, and went back to bed. LMAO.

It is another gorgeous day! Sunny and 70! We are going out lunch then over to Dave's sisters to help her with some interior design advice.

Not much else to share here, since my life was on standby for two days...lol

~Calling for Peace~

Here is a little something different, from me. This doll was created using a pattern from Veenas Merchantile. I bought a few patterns from her last week. She turned out really cute. I will probably be placing her on E-bay sometime this week. Unless, someone snags her before then.

She is completely coffee stained from head to toe and smells yummy. It was interesting painting a different face. I am used to seperate eye lids, so this one had a little less steps involved.

I love her colors. It works really well in my own home! LOL Her lace is fabulous too! Well, I hope you enjoyed my new creation. I really need to get my office organized, it is a disaster area. It only stays clean for about a day or until I start another project, lol.

You can click on her picture to view a slide show of her.
