~Americana Kitty Stocking~

This stocking turned out real sweet. I used a Back Porch Pickins pattern for this one. It's a hot one outside today, but somehow my house is staying cool. I am going to be listing this on Ebay, this afternoon, along with a bunch of other paintings I have been working on. Other than that school is back in session, so it is time to work even harder.

My Cleaning Crew

I was carrying the kittens milk/kitty food and whoop, there it goes! Thanks goodness for my little cleaning crew. This was funny. CC (cookies&cream) and Gin are loving it. Soon Gin took over so CC decided to nibble on her leg. It was too cute! Gin is not used to getting so close to a cat. My other cats HATE her! lol

Welcome Cat Friends

This painting is by Benedetta. It is on a block of wood. It is so darling. The colors are wonderful and it is such a fun whimsical piece. I have placed it right by my front door. "Cat Friends Welcome"

If you are not a cat lover, I just do not know what to say to you! If you dislike cats, you can just leave. That is my motto! lmao.

I got mad at my mom, once. She told me "A stray was coming by and I started feeding it but stopped because I did not want it to keep coming around." Like it was some beggar. I was outraged! MOM! AHHH. Your horrible! I think maybe I am still mad at her for that and hope the little kitty found some other home to get food. As you can see my parents never bestowed upon me a love of animals. It was a gift from God. Thank you, Lord!

~Snowball and Alley Cat Rescue (please read)~

Remember Snowball? Well, Joan has painted another one. This time, he is pooped out! Gosh, isn't he just so precious? Her auction starts today, for this painting. The auction ends for the playful version, this afternoon, but if it does not sell, she may re-list it. Joan is an amazing portrait artist, isn't she? Help support my friend, a true starving artist by going to Crow Productions. Check out her blog too! Remember she is offering custom portraits, if you have a pet you want to capture forever in a painting. She can do small and large portraits, just send her a note!

PLEASE READ: So, I have been taking food to the Ferrel cats down the alley. It is one alley away down from mine. There seems to be a big cat colony there. At one spot were I leave the kitten food, it seems someone is taking it. May be the people that live in one of the homes, that the cats are hiding out in. Their back yard looks like "Sanford & Son" (if you get what I mean)..Anyway, I am really annoyed. I get that they are poor and probably cannot do anything about the cat issue, but to take my food away...it urks me! So, because of this I think I am gonna start a non-profit cat rescue. We do not have a ASPCA here in Denver. If I own a cat rescue organization, maybe people will take me more seriously and leave my stuff alone! lol

Anyway, It costs $50 to purchase a trap. I only have one. I cannot just trap one cat, because it is likely it will be a mom of one of the many kittens that are running around. So, I have to do something. If these kittens are not captured, they surely WILL die. I know, I have seen all three of Shadows siblings (which were alley cats) die before they hit 4 months old. These are not quick deaths either. They get terribly injured by another stray animal and go crawl behind something to die...which takes days, because they end up getting eaten alive by maggots. YES THIS IS REALITY!

So, I have decided to start a blog for the non-profit and try to raise money for cages, food, vet bills and such to help with this problem. It is all I can think of, to save these little poopers!~

I will be offering special felted dolls and other kitty items and some of Joan's paintings, in order to help raise money. If you want to donate, please email me and I will keep you informed when I get this whole non-profit started. I have never done one, so I will be asking one of my girlfriends for help, who has.

I have been praying on this for a long-time. Just last night I worry a lot about the poor things and it can be very difficult for me emotionally and financially. This idea about a non-profit comes from the holy spirit, I know. So, pray for me, but especially pray for the well being of all the little kittens!

PS~ I need help with a name for my non-profit...any suggestions?

~Felted Kitty Boo Box~

Here is my final creation for our WSOAPP shop update for tomorrow. Actually, the shop opens on Sunday, but we were suppose to have it posted tomorrow. WSOAPP SHOP I am posting mine early. I have a funeral tomorrow, so I doubt I will be doing much blogging.

It is a sad story. A young lady Nancy Poysti (only 43) that lives just a few blocks from me, (whom was a good friend of another friend of mine) past away suddenly, on Saturday. The coronor thinks she died of Toxic Shock Syndrome. I am confused and angry because she was going thru a divorce and was all alone. I keep thinking if she had someone there with her they may have been able to take her to the hospital. UGGGH. I have not cried yet, but I doubt I will go without tomorrow. I got the pleasure of going out with her a couple times..boy she loved to dance. I will always remember her firecracker spirit. It truly makes me count ALL my blessings.

I would like to take a moment to thank god for everything in my life and loving me enough to save me from eternal damnation! AMEN.

~Snowball by my friend Joan~

Okay, Okay I know this is my third blog of the day! LMAO. I just went over to my friend Joan's blog to see a new painting she made...OMG Isn't it just darling? If you have not gone over to her blog...you need to go. She has two darling paintings on ebay, right now for Christmas. They are great deals and I know you will just love her art. I DO!

I think she could get commissioned to do peoples pets! Wouldn't that be a great gift for a dog or cat lover?

~Back to normal~

Shadow has decided that she wants to be with me again. I brought her bed into my office and she has been napping all morning, while I work. She is back to purring when I give her kisses on the head. So, we are a happy family again. LOL I started my santa doll. Boy, this rabbit fur is really messy when you cut it. But, it is gonna look great when it is all grunged, I am sure.

The sun has come out and it is warming up, outside. I am going to Joan's, this afternoon, to help her get her paintings listed on e-bay, so better get going...time is not on my side today! Hopefully, I will have time to work on santa this weekend.

~Poor Kitty~

Shadow got her 3 year shots, yesterday. She was squirming so much that I think the vet got it in her shoulder instead of her scruff. She was so angry. I dragged her out from under the bed last night and she was growling at me. I put her down and she looked so lethargic and was walking terribly slow. She went back under the bed and has not come out, since last night. She has not eaten or drank anything since yesterday morning. I am worried about her. It has been over 24 hours now, since her shot. I would think she would be over it by now. How long can a cat go without water?

I purchased this cute ski sheep kit at a craft/knitting boutique. I thought it was cool since I am a skier and I want to own some sheep...heehee. I also ordered a hooked rug holder (not sure what it is called) but I found a video on how to do it...gosh, it looks simple. SO, maybe I can finish those kits I bought months ago.

What ever happened to that penny rug project?

I have not worked on this in months! Look at all the pennies I still have to stitch. If I would have picked a little one to start with, I'd be done by now. NO, not me. I pick the most difficult item. It was the same in my Upholstery class. I already picked the chair and the fabric before my first class..come to find out that patterns and flowers are for advanced students..LMAO. The teacher, let me work on it, though and it turned out pretty good.

I would really like to have this penny rug finished by Christmas! I was thinking about making some as gifts...yeah, right! Too time consuming. I think what bothers me the most about stitchin this rug is...all the yarn has been cut into pieces, so I have to re-thread the needle for every penny! Not my idea of fun, really.

In other news: This morning was a frickin train wreck! So, I wake up early (about 5:30) cuz my mind knows I have something to do, I suppose. I drive to the vet hospital and I get.."We do not take stray's anymore!" They direct me to another facility (that I have difficulty finding) Then, when I finally do find it , I am pretty worked up. They ask me, "Have you been approved thru blahblahblah?" WHAT? Of course by this time I am a bit angry and start lashing out at the receptionist and I am feeling terrible about carting that poor kitty around all morning and he is so stressed out and sore from struggling. I start crying and convince the lady to just take the animal and I would pay for it. I had no problem paying for any of the vet care. (I guess the ferrel program is free) My concern was this poor thing that I did not know what to do with! After leaving him there, I was still worked up from it and I cry halfway home. I am such a baby when I PMS! (thanks EVE! You bitch! LOL) So, now I have set an appointment for Friday. Apparently, Friday is the only day they are accepted and with an appointment. URRGH. It would have been nice to get that update. When i got home, I just crawled in bed and napped for a couple hours.

Now, I am up and ready to start a new project. I only have about 3 hours till my afternoon gets busy with errands, so I hope I can get something accomplished. Thanks girls for all your nice compliments on my last blog. It is nice to know there are plenty of kitty lovers out there! HUGS~

My first sewing project

This cute photo was taken when Shadow was still a kitten. The last day of my sewing class we made a t-shirt (doll size) with the serger.
Here is my baby kittens sportin' it for us!
I remember as a child I used to put kittens' in doll clothes. Who's cat's? I don't even remember that, maybe the neighbors. Oh, how they squirmed. We loved it, though. They were like real babies. :)
Now, I would not dare put my doll clothes on her! She is a big kitty, she would have non of it. The things I was able to do to her when she was still a kitten. Her first bath and dry with the blow dryer..first and last LOL. She was so trusting, back then.
Well, Happy Sunday to you. Get your rest, it is back to work tomorrow! :)

Felting felting and more felting

FEWWW, these kitties took me a few hours to make. I broke a brand new needle already. I must be careful, I only have a hand full left. Pointers for anyone looking to needle felt: The wool that is primarily used for needle felting works much better than the roving you buy for the doll hair. The doll hair is slippery and does not felt as easily. I am glad that I had a bag of it on hand.

I am so used to stabbing myself, to. If I could have a dime for every time I have pricked my finger with a needle the last few months I could buy some nice Dior shoes. LOL Gosh, I cannot remember the last time I splurged on designer shoes. I have been spending all my money on art and dolls. Well, I best be finding my real kitty. She is hiding someplace around here. Bye for now.

Cat Lover

Well, I was sitting here thinking. I need a doll idea. It is not time for Halloween, for me yet...so hmmmmm. I had to decide with fabric I had on hand and this is what I have so far.

I am dedicating this doll to Cat Nap Inn Primitives and ALL you cat lovers out there. She is going to a be the Cat Lady. I am planning on making a felted kitty for her to hold, but I am still undecided if I need more than one....you know the typical steriotype. Anyway, I probably won't know till I am at that point in her creation.

I love her hair! I was a bit worried about how this funky stuff was gonna look, but she is fabulous! She looks much better in person. It is hard to see all the texture in it.

I am definately on a green eyes kick. Hey, I have green eyes and I am partial to them..they are really pretty to me. I have a bunch of glass eyes, but honestly, I like the painted eyes better. If anyone wants to try a pair of glass eyes, let me know I will send you a pair.

My idea for this doll came as I picked out the fabric and hair. Sometimes you just have to start and see what it becomes! I still have not got my bobbins in. I did get all my felt so I was able to work on that. I cannot finish my Bee Queen till I get that darn bobbin. I better go contact that person to check. I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! I have no plans and that is fine with me.
