White Witch Sneak Peak

I am posting this for Joan. If you follow my blog you know Joan and I have been collaborating on her first set of dolls. I hope you like her outfit Joan. Joan is really getting the hang of sculpting with Paper clay. Now, all I have to finish on her is her hat. She will be holding a white owl...as soon as I figure out how to attach him. I have talked Joan into doing a red one, so we can have some them. Then we may list them at the same time. I cannot wait to share this one when she is done. In my own world I would love to paint something today. Not sure if I will but we'll see.

My first sewing project

This cute photo was taken when Shadow was still a kitten. The last day of my sewing class we made a t-shirt (doll size) with the serger.
Here is my baby kittens sportin' it for us!
I remember as a child I used to put kittens' in doll clothes. Who's cat's? I don't even remember that, maybe the neighbors. Oh, how they squirmed. We loved it, though. They were like real babies. :)
Now, I would not dare put my doll clothes on her! She is a big kitty, she would have non of it. The things I was able to do to her when she was still a kitten. Her first bath and dry with the blow dryer..first and last LOL. She was so trusting, back then.
Well, Happy Sunday to you. Get your rest, it is back to work tomorrow! :)

Felting felting and more felting

FEWWW, these kitties took me a few hours to make. I broke a brand new needle already. I must be careful, I only have a hand full left. Pointers for anyone looking to needle felt: The wool that is primarily used for needle felting works much better than the roving you buy for the doll hair. The doll hair is slippery and does not felt as easily. I am glad that I had a bag of it on hand.

I am so used to stabbing myself, to. If I could have a dime for every time I have pricked my finger with a needle the last few months I could buy some nice Dior shoes. LOL Gosh, I cannot remember the last time I splurged on designer shoes. I have been spending all my money on art and dolls. Well, I best be finding my real kitty. She is hiding someplace around here. Bye for now.

Dog Lover

This is the last of my bobbin girls. There are four, incase you lost count. This little girl, brunette in pig tails is going to be sporting her pooch. I am not sure what type of dog, yet.

I decided to do one last one cuz they all look so adorable and I thought it would be neat to do a series of them. Now, I will be busy all week getting them all finished

My bobbins were sent out today, so I probably won't get them till at least mid week to end of the week. So, I will be working on most of the details and all their pets this week.
So, in other news. Freedom and Old Glory did not sell on ebay. I relisted them at a lower rate, in hopes of selling them, this time. I really hate doing that and maybe I am just not pricing them right the first time. This really is getting to me today...I can keep giving my dolls away, but there may be a point that I am discouraged enough to give in the towel, so to speak. I am kind of irritated right now, can you tell? So, I will have to learn to start with a lower price and hope and pray someone likes enough to get more bids. BOOHOO, I just had to bitch.

Well, my office is a disaster area now, so I better get it cleaned up. I hope your weekend is going wonderfully.

Cat Lover

Well, I was sitting here thinking. I need a doll idea. It is not time for Halloween, for me yet...so hmmmmm. I had to decide with fabric I had on hand and this is what I have so far.

I am dedicating this doll to Cat Nap Inn Primitives and ALL you cat lovers out there. She is going to a be the Cat Lady. I am planning on making a felted kitty for her to hold, but I am still undecided if I need more than one....you know the typical steriotype. Anyway, I probably won't know till I am at that point in her creation.

I love her hair! I was a bit worried about how this funky stuff was gonna look, but she is fabulous! She looks much better in person. It is hard to see all the texture in it.

I am definately on a green eyes kick. Hey, I have green eyes and I am partial to them..they are really pretty to me. I have a bunch of glass eyes, but honestly, I like the painted eyes better. If anyone wants to try a pair of glass eyes, let me know I will send you a pair.

My idea for this doll came as I picked out the fabric and hair. Sometimes you just have to start and see what it becomes! I still have not got my bobbins in. I did get all my felt so I was able to work on that. I cannot finish my Bee Queen till I get that darn bobbin. I better go contact that person to check. I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! I have no plans and that is fine with me.

Oh Golly Miss Molly

Molly Ringwald, that is who she reminds me of. "Pretty In Pink" This is what I am up to, today. I forgot to coffee stain her before I put her hairdo on...whoops.

I guess I was so excited about seeing what she was going to look like. The fabric is really fun and I just love how that trim turned out. Thanks Tonya. How fun is she?

She will go so well in a little girls room, wouldn't she? So, I still have plenty to do on her. I just thought I would share while her stockings dry. I cannot wait till she is all grunged and I put on her pretty pink cheeks.

Well, I must get going so I can work on her some more. I hope everyone else is having as much fun creating!
