Scorpio Zodiac Clay Mask

Happy Friday! I managed to both paint a mask as well as sculpt two more. I made the mistake of putting her hole for the wire in front of her stinger, so I may have to add a bow to it.  But, these are turning out to be very fun to hang on the wall.

Aries Zodiac Claw Mask

Aries, the ram mask turned out cute! I feel I am done painting for today, however.  I have lots more coming this weekend as many things are coming out of the kiln.  I can't wait!  It's also getting warmer out and that means flowers and spending more time outdoors taking pictures.  But, hopefully I will make 9 more masks going into the summer.

Virgo Zodiac Mask

Yeah I finally got to paint some clay masks that I created and fired in pottery class.  I actually had a lot of fun painting on these.  There's only one more class before the summer break, so I will be trying to make a bunch of these to paint before then.  People keep encouraging me to make the entire horoscope (not just what is relevant to me personally) and if I can be creative enough I think I will try a few more.  If you want one for yourself, send me a note.  I may consider doing a specific zodiac sign first, if you request it.

The Crab

I got up real early this Saturday morning and was able to paint this cute 8x10 painting of a Cancer girl by 9:30.  Yeah. Cancers are loving, sympathetic, sensual, protective and strong.  They can be sensitive, over-reactive and moody.  Sweet Cancer, I have never met one I did not like.  I got out of my shell (pun intended) and painted a background.  I think it makes this painting.  My two favorite colors together...match my office.  So bright and cheery.

Prints for Charity available in my etsy shop for $30

Finding Your Inner Child Art Journal

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

Doodling like a kid again in this tiny little journal I am calling "Finding Your Inner Child" I intend to fill it with anything that reminds me of being a kid.  If you were blessed to have wonderful supportive loving parents, then you are very lucky.    My childhood was difficult at times having 3 sisters and 2 brothers and parents that...we'll I grew up in the 70's and compared to today's standards - it's hard to believe we survived.   But here I am getting old and reminiscing of my youth by creating a journal that inspires me to remember the FUN I had.  Cheers to childhood memories!

Free Klimt Inspired Color Page

Happy Saturday!  I wasn't able to craft this week because of some medical issues.  Now that I am ready to get back into it, I have a whole list of things I want to do.  One is to start offering color pages.  Since I couldn't make anything new, I edited a piece I made for art history.  Just click on the image, right click and save to print.  Print as many as you like and color away!  Feel free to share with me!

My new obsession - Homemade stamps

I am so addicted to this new art form.  Too bad my rubber is all marked up from the manufacturer. :(  Still loving the creation process though!

~You're So Pretty~

I love these cuties I just made. I had these wooden candle holders hanging around in my supplies for over a year. I am happy that I saved them for these items. Aren't they so adorable? Now, I am anxious to make some more. These are perfect for placing on a dresser in a little girls room. But, really who needs to be a little girl to enjoy them. I sure don't. I like ALL things pretty. Wink Wink

~Overwhelmed yet? NAH~

Boy, do I have my work cut out for me...This isn't even all of it..really there is twice this much to finish. Thanks to my mom though for working really hard cutting fabric, stuffing heads and hats and hand stitching garland...otherwise I would not even be attempting this. My house has turned into a little doll factory. I cannot wait to share all the new creations as I get them finished. These colors are so vibrant and fun aren't they? I just had to take a picture. Well, I only have a few more hours of the day left..lets see how much I can get accomplished. Wish me luck!

~Laugh Out Loud~

This clown is so cute. I was very happy how he turned out. Anyway...Why is is when you wake up early you feel great and when you sleep in you feel like crap? I slept in today...and feel yucky. I am sweating while I enjoy my hot latte. Double yuck! My sister just called to ask if I could baby sit for 5 to 6 hours this afternoon...uhhhhh Oh well. They'll just have to deal with their aunt making more dolls. I have so much catching up to do from my week off that I am reeling over it. I have two more boxes and three stocking to finish today, so I better get to it then huh?

~I Believe~

This is a little 5x7 painting. I quite like them because they appeal to my impatient side. Something I am learning about everyday. Having better patience with everyone, including myself. "I believe" is the name of this painting because I do believe all things are possible. Love does not fear. I have learned a lot about what I truly desire. It has been quite a ride the last 6 months, but miracles do happen. I am living proof. I am an over comer. I decided to put god above every desire I have on earth. I am not perfect and everyday is a challenge, but "I believe" that we can receive new hearts through Christ Jesus.

~Little Lady Bug~

This little cutie is another item for the Zoar Harvest Festival. I have a ton of these little boxes to make before then. I have been overwhelmed by life lately, but I take comfort in my art. I am optomistic about my life and what is to come. I cannot be anything but happy about it because life is too short. It is another crafty day at the Carter household. Mom is coming over and we are making some stockings! yeah.

~Uncel Sam~

I am a little behind between my Facebook posts and my blog posts...I know. This guy was pretty fun to make. I love the painted box he is on. So much fun! Well, anyway...I am freezing my ass in my house on this warm sunny morning. Wishing I could take my laptop outside to watch my Maya tutorials..but unfortunately that won't work.

~Halloween Creations & Zoar Harvest Festival~

I have decided to do a juried show at Zoar during their Harvest Festival. My mom and I have been working hard and will be non stop for months. I am also trying to set up space at the Atwood Lake Fall Festival. Thousands of people! I am excited about both shows. It will be my first time and I am looking forward to lots of fun. I hope you like all the new creations I will be posting. Non will be up on E-bay while I get ready for a show, but I will do special orders if anyone likes what they see.

~Lady Liberty~

This is one of my favorites. This one is on an 8x10 canvas board. I love the colors and the puckered lips on her. She is so pretty!
