Designing a kitty bed

I am using a couple of fabrics I received for my birthday from pea of Whimsical Endeavors to make a kitty bed. I have to make to trip to JoAnns for the cushion this week to work on this. I already washed the fabric, so that it will be washable. The kitty material will be the top/or bottom, the polka dotts are the sides. Black & white polka dot welt cording and some white beaded material on one side and lace on the other. What kind of lace is that, anyone know? Gingum came to mind, but I do not know what gingum is. lol Pop quiz, what other than art college do I have 2 years education? No it is not real estate either.

I have been knitting here and there. Some during camping and here and there. But, I have about 6 to 8 new ipod purses that just need their felted ball and strap attached. One of these days I will finish them all and get them out there. It is hard to get motivated to do something that does not bring money. Not now anyway. When I actually sell my patterns in a book, maybe that will bring money. *smirk* A boutique in Aspen looks pretty good to me. The rich can appreciate fine quality one of a kinds. :)

I *HEART* Hand Made

I love anything hand made, don't you? These cute hand made tags and cards arrived in the mail, today. Tonya of Back Porch Pickins made them. The tags are perfect for my hand knit purses. The cards are just darling, as well. Tonya is very talented and I wish I could get all her secrets of wrapping things. I bought cellophane, but had no clue how to use the darn thing, so I gave it to a local flower shop (bartered for some flowers..lol)

It has been such an unproductive month for me. I sure hope April is 10 times better. NO COLD, would help out tremendously! Every time I think I want to make a bunny doll, I feel like crap! I have a hard time working on a doll if I am not 100%. I tell ya, I am still blowing my nose like crazy. Not much of a cough anymore, but you'd think my head would be the size of a bowling ball with all this snot! JEEEZ!~

Almost done!

Finally, right? lol Actually there is a bit more on that collar to knit and I have to make little pockets for it and sew the arms together, but maybe we can have it all complete next time Selma and I meet. We talked about going out together with our sweaters on...lol

Like the nosy kitty? My little monkey, I call her!!!

Little Girly Slippers

I have no idea what size these would be. They are about as little as I can go. At least in this style. Baby booties would probably need a strap. Since I do not know kids sizes, I would guess a 3 or 4 year old. I broke two needles while making these, so I will have to postpone anymore slippers till I purchase some more. That won't be long, I assure you. :)

I updated my WSOAPP Sales blog. No dolls, unfortunately, but I did list a few knitted/felted items that I did not list on my ETSY. You can also custom order a pair of slippers.

The amount of stuff I have, I could open a little boutique...unfortunately, that is not good as my stuff are not selling....lol I have a good attitude about it. At least I love making things.

Large Funky Tote Bag

I have been a horrible slacker in the doll making department. So, I have listed one of my recent creations on my WSOAPP Sales blog. I am in the process of creating a black version of this large tote bag, if you are interested, just email or send a comment. It cost me almost $100 just for the material on this bag, so the price listed is not even near to what it should be worth, but a starving artist has got to live!

Warm weather and a cold

The weather here has been incredible, but now I have a cold. Yep, it sucks. Slept a lot yesterday, but I am hoping to get some thing accomplished, today. I did manage to finish another pair of slippers.

If only I could get motivated to make a doll or work on my hook rug. It's days like this, I wish I had a pool. I'd probably hang out there all day...heehee.

Felted Slippers

NEW ON ETSY!
These were so much fun to make. I am taking a break, though.
I have been sick with a head cold.
Funny how I get this when it is 72 degrees! Spring Fever, literally!

Ballerina Slippers

I finished another pair of slippers this morning. These are a woman's small. Size 7 to 7.5 . I am having a lot of fun making these, so you will probably see a couple more by the end of the week...heehee. These would be cute as little baby booties, too. So, with any left over yarn, I will try to whip out some of those, as well.

I know I need to be making a doll, but these are way too much fun!

Mary Jane Slippers

These are darling! I wanted to start knitting items that can be worn through spring. These cute little felted slippers are a child's size Medium. I do not have children, so I have no idea what age that would be. 8 maybe? The foot measurement would be 7.5 inches. I am working on a ladies size small right now...without the strap. All those yarns, I shared last week are all for these cute little slippers. I will be listing them on ETSY for $35.00

I will consider doing custom orders in any color and any size. The flowers are needle felted, so I can create any design you like. Polka dots, flowers, and even a name.

The weather here in Denver is a warm 70 degrees and sunny. I hear it is supposed to be like this ALL week! Can you believe it? I can :) That is why I LOVE Colorado. It is probably snowing an hour and half a way. Seems like California, to me!!

Another Ipod/cell phone purse

I had to make this. It matches the last neck warmer I made. I will be posting them both on ETSY, by this weekend.

It is absolutely gorgeous, outside. It was so warm, yesterday, I actually watered the lawn. Our crab-apple trees need a good soaking, so I probably should do that this afternoon.

I need to run to the knit shop and office depot, as well. Sometimes, I don't really feeling like getting out of my pj's to actually go anywhere...lol
Oh well, I suppose I need to force myself out of the house!

~Warm & Cozy Shawl~

I started this yesterday and finished it up this morning. My first ever shawl. I guess that is what you'd call it, right? I am going to be listing this on ETSY for $68, if you are interested. It is very soft and warm.

I had a better time taking a photo of myself. Duh, I just got the tripod out and set it for automatic. I guess I was a bit lazy, all those other times.

It snowed a bit, last night. It will be gone by this afternoon. It is supposed to be in the 50's today and the sun is shining.
I am gonna to be lazy and knit while watching TV. Bridget Jones...again. I think I have seen that 3 times. I guess, I find her extremely embarrassing in a funny way...I suppose, I can relate in some ways (like sticking my foot in my mouth..lol)

I love the new living room set up...maybe too much, actually. I am finding it quite easy to knit and watch the boob toob...uh oh!! At least I am being productive. I could just be sitting there vegging out. I know, " justify it, Jenny!"

Fisherman's Cable Hat

Shelby and I stayed up late last night, knitting our hats. This is another horrible photo, but hopefully you can see the cabling. She called this my fisherman's hat. Maybe because of the bright red.

I have enough yarn in both colors to make two, so I am thinking about putting some of these on ETSY. If you want one, they will be listed for $30. I can get all kinds of colors, so I would consider a special order. (pink, baby blue, olive green, camel, lavender, cream, light purple, dark purple, yellow...and it goes on)

Skiing and more knitting

Ahhhh, Skiing. I love it! It started out nice enough outside, then half the day we got snow. Pretty white out conditions and cold. There was hardly anyone there, so we got a lot more runs in than a normal day. My legs were burning! I kept going down quick steep runs real fast. No breaks and by the end of the day I was working really hard to keep myself up. 4 hours of burning thighs....ffffeeeewwww.

Anyway, I also love the drive or should I say I love when I do not have to drive. I was able to knit an entire cozy and practically finish Michelle's scarf. That took me a while, because I procrastinated on it...lol

The cold weather followed us home. I just hope we do not get any snow. I am going to sit here and go thru all my favorite blogs and catch up. Then relax on the couch for a while....knitting again, probably! LMAO.

~Neck Cozy and Dumb Dumb~

I started this neck warmer, today. Another spectacular yarn from Kitty Grrlz. I love it. I have been a knitting maniac, lately.

My doll sales are slow, if null. So, I need something to do that I do not mind NOT selling. I can always gift my knitted items.

I finally sold a doll, today. $47. That barely pays me anything but supplies and a few bucks an hour. Then guess what I do? I sell it to someone in the UK. Not realizing it, when I sent the invoice with FREE shipping. (it was free for the US) but anyway, I ended up paying $29.00 in shipping. HMMM you do the math. Do, you see why "I AIN'T" making any dolls, right now? What an idiot I can be when I am in a hurry.

I was thinking about doing another raffle for the valentine dolls and stocking. (I am always in need of earning money to help me pay for fixing the kitties) But, I am not sure, if that would work, since Valentines is almost here and gone.

Well, I better start getting dinner ready. I hope you have a great night!

Lil Purses on ETSY

I just listed three Cellphone / Ipod purses I finished this morning.
I have a busy day, cleaning (again). Don't you just love Mondays?

I have a few errands as well. I am going to look for more leather straps for those purses I made last week. I would love to list a few for sale (plus, I want to keep a couple) so, hopefully they will have more at the knit shop.

Ipod Purse

What a quick little project, this was. I used the one skein of art yarns, by Kitty Grrlz, I just bought. I knew I would not have enough for something large, so I thought I would try a little Ipod purse. This, like all my purses are my own design. Not much to it, but it is perfect for this funky yarn. I used a felted ball, a gift from my good friends Jennifer Pease of Hot Tamale Art Studio and her sister Cris of Mommy's Midwest Mountain Folk Art. I wondered when I was going to get around using them. Now it is perfect.

I have enough yarn of this color to make another purse like this. Which I will be knitting sometime this week and placing on ETSY, if you are interested. It would make a fun little gift for a teenager.

Enjoy your Sunday!

Another Funky Bag

I finished this purse, this morning. It is a smaller version of the red bag. The knit shop did not have big straps in black, unfortunately. This purse is really adorable, though.

Now, I guess I can start working on another doll. I want to make the bunny pattern with chicks from Back Porch Pickins, next. He looks so cute.

I am still in awe of so much lovely weather here in Denver. Sunny and possible 70 degrees!!! Jealous?

Funky Red Purse

I started working on this bag a couple months ago, but I was not happy with the size, so I took out.

Shelby looked at me like I was nuts, because it was practically finished when I took it out.

I am glad I did. The size is perfect now. I felted it last night and sewed the leather straps on, this morning. Those leather straps were not very fun to stitch on...but I am very happy with my new bag. These are pictures of the before and after felting.

If you have never tried felting...you should! It is really cool to see what comes out in the end. It takes attention, though, because too much felting could happen if left alone.

Here is a picture of me in my PJ's...heehee.

~Many Projects~

Here is a banner I received in the mail, today. Tonya from Back Porch Pickins made it. It looks nice on my mantle.

I have two things I am working on, plus I am hoping when I get finished with this blog, I will start on a snowman make-do.

I am getting a bit frustrated at my hooked rug. The wool is pretty flimsy and I sometimes get the hook caught and it rips. HUUUH? It cannot be that hard. Plus, my hand is all torn up from it and that does not help either.I can only work on it for an hour at a time, if that. Maybe when my hand heals it won't be as bothersome. I cannot see hook rugging 8 hours a day...ugggh. Although, maybe once I get the hang of it, it will be easier.

I also started the red purse. I am using smaller needles and I made the circumference not as wide, so hopefully it will be just as I want it when it is felted. Lots of projects, huh? Well, I still have not finished a scarf I was making for a gift...Time, where have you gone?

I am going to start on a doll, right now. Been putting that off for too long. Have a lovely day!
