I finished page 3 of my Friday Journal, after pottery class. I was pretty patient in pottery class, but definitely not patient with this painting however. I feel much more comfortable painting in reverse and I painted her on white gesso paper. I also feel like I was rushing it because I only had an hour before the sun went down and my office gets super dark. That is probably why she is a bit sloppy.
The left side was inspired by
June Bug Folk Art The inspiration I took from this was the haphazard way the flowers are floating in the air. I had never seen her artwork before today and I was very impressed by her cute folky funky style.
The right side was inspired by
LuLu My Pink Turtle. When I created my journal entry I actually was not even looking at this photo. I think it was just a memory I had of her cute paintings. As you can tell I am not duplicating her work or style of painting. I also used my own words in the background and it says in Spanish "I love my cat. My cat loves me. Trust only those who loves cats" or at least I think it says that because I used google translate. lol
