A tribute to Gritty Jane

I redid that painting, last night. These are paintings to look like Gritty Jane. I am sure you can tell that. These are for my own pleasure and just practice paintings. I figured I would try to paint her angels first, then build from that my own characters. I am trying to practice this so I can start creating something like Danita, Duda Daze and some of you others who have your own style and characters. This is how I learn, so I hope no one takes offence that this paintings is close to one of Jane's pieces (one of my favorites) I will never sell it, so I hoping it is okay to use it as a practice painting. The second painting you can see is kinda funny looking...lol But, that is why I need practice. lol Maybe if I did them on larger than 5x7 canvas, they would be easier. I just don't want to waste a lot of money on practice paintings. While I am in school I want to work on illustrating a children's book. I figure painting a lot would be the way to go.

Well, I am off to nap. It is only 9 am, but I have a migraine and it is starting to make me sick.

Jenny, you did a wonderful job :) I'm sure Jane will think so too. Jane gives us very good structure and we take it from there. I cant wait to see more !!!

I agree with Angie, Jenny. SHe is teaching you, so of course you find it easier to "practice" with likes of her paintings. It only makes sense.

I can not believe they are only on 5x7 canvas. I have problems doing "small" things. LOL I would need at least a 8x10. Yes, canvas is not cheap either...especially when you go larger.

Wish I could have taken that class, but I must focus and not be trying to do 50 different mediums. Just the way I am.

Have a great day.....a good nap. I hope your migraine goes away.
